Author’s Note｜Distant Thunder – Minos & Albafica

This text is part of a literary Minos/Albafica series,
originally written in Japanese and translated into English.

I am less interested in explicit romance
than in what remains:
waiting, silence, duration,
and what was not rejected.

These stories focus on gestures,
thresholds, and the accumulation of time,
rather than on explaining emotions.

Rain, distant thunder, and the passing of seasons
function here as motifs —
not as climaxes,
but as suspensions.
